SommApp is operated by Three Elements Design, LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service at sommapp.com and app.sommapp.com.
Account information: Email address and authentication credentials when you create an account.
Tasting notes: The wine tasting notes and related content you create, including structured data fields (grape, region, vintage, ratings, etc.) and free-text descriptions.
Usage data: Basic analytics about how you use the app (pages visited, features used) to improve the Service. We do not track individual tasting note content for analytics.
Device data: Browser type, operating system, and device information necessary to provide the Service and offline functionality.
When you use AI-powered features (similarity search), your note content is processed to generate search embeddings. These embeddings are stored to enable search functionality. Your tasting notes are not used to train AI models or shared with third-party AI providers for training purposes.
We do not sell your personal information or tasting note content to third parties.
Tasting rooms & libraries: When you share notes in a tasting room or library, the content you choose to share is visible to other room/library members. Private fields (distributor info, contacts, pricing) are never shared unless you explicitly include them.
Service providers: We use Supabase for database hosting and Cloudflare for content delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. Notes created offline are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB and synced to our servers when connectivity is available. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
Export: Pro subscribers receive quarterly data exports. All users may request a full export of their data at any time.
Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data at any time. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We will remove your data from our servers within 30 days of deletion, except where retention is required by law.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. The app uses IndexedDB for offline note storage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
SommApp is intended for adults of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21 years of age.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
